Default WARNING about University of Michigan Plastic Surgery!!!

Think LONG and HARD before you go to University of Michigan Plastic Surgery! I was hospitalized at U of M for an accident and they had interns and all kinds of novices working on me and making BIG MISTAKES which I am living with to this day! The doctors were negligent and missed a break in my pelvis and many others! I would NOT get plastic surgery from their clinic. They have students and apprentices working on patients and cosmetic surgery is NOT something you can gamble on. My experience with the University of Michigan medical system has been a horrible experience and I would be highly skeptical of their plastic surgery division. I have NOT had any experience with that department but IF it is managed like there hospital you don't want to go there. Think it through very carefully this is a learning educational environment and I would be super careful if you go with them! Make sure you know exactly which doctor is working on you when you're under!

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty all of its own. Unless you were beautiying your pelvis, what legitimate evidence do you have regarding their plastic surgery department? I am sorry to hear you had an awful experience, but it sounds like you have a personal vendetta. As a medical professional, I can tell you the closest interns get to plastic surgery patients is completing paperwork, providing tools or gauze, or making sure patients are comfortable.

Sorry if you had a bad experience, but do not mar a department that had NOTHING to do with you.

Unjust!

Doctors in training have to get their experience some how! Whether the University of Michigan's plastic surgery department does that or not, I don't know. Wouldn't it be fairer to ask them directly to find out instead of speculating?

Speculation leads to stress (not truly knowing the outcome, but assuming it), and no concrete answers. Address the issue at the source, as la_angel is stating.
