New and need some advice about recovery/ time off work
 

Hi there.
I am a new member but have wanted a tummy tuck since my twins were born 2 years ago. I am finished having children, have saved nearly enough, and I think now while it is cold and yucky where I am would be a great time- so I can wear a swimming suit this summer!

What is preventing me from doing it right now is my job. I am a nurse, and work part time in a clnic; I work one 12 hour shift on my feet per week and one 8 hour shift sitting at a desk per week. Because I am so part time, I have very little vacation time or sick leave. The best I could do is to call in sick for my 12 hour shift once and that would give me about a week- ten days off.

Is that completely ridiculous?

I can't stand that my job that has allowed me to save for the surgery is the thing preventing me from getting it! I can't quit, we do need the money and the vacation/sick time is not likely to change.

Help me make this workable!
