closure method: staples or stitches?
 

when i had my tummy tuck four years ago the doctor used staples and now i am left with big ugly scars. recently i had an operation on my knee but they stitched it up and you can hardly see the scar! did my surgeon take the easy way out by stapling me shut instead of taking his time to stitch? what method is most commonly used now?

Any doctor worth their salt should stitch. Yes it takes longer but the results are far better. It's a pity more surgeons don't do it. The worst part is when it comes to non-cosmetic surgeries doctors almost always take the easy way out and just stitch it on up. Although they may be physically healed this any one with major ugly scars knows it can be emotionally depressing.
