Default Tummy tuck has disadvantages

I am a 40 year old mother of 2 young children and had a tummy tuck done in mid April of this year. I wanted to tell others that there are some side effects of this surgery that I wasn't counting on. My belly button looks way different than it did before and I have no sensation at all around my belly button area and lower abs. I had two C-sections and recovered from both with no lasting side effects. I am now worried that this numbness will never go away. Also, my scar is huge, red, and very noticeable. Will things ever feel and look normal again?

No it is not so numbness also disappear after a span but if lasts longer better to consult your surgeons, it takes around one month or may be more depends upon person to person to heal the bruises, redness and numbness.

Sometimes tummy tucks can do more for what you will look like fully clothed or in a one piece bathing suit than with bare skin, unfortunately. The surrounding area can look a little "off" after the procedure. Beyond the look of things, however, the numbness should go away, or at least get to the point where it is barely noticeable and only a small nuisance. I am not sure of the timelines involved. Best of luck!

The tummy tuck has disadvantage of causing the skin to scar.

I had a full tt 6 weeks ago and I have to agree that I was not aware of how intensive the recovery would be. The first week I just wanted to die. I had a c section and a histerectomy in the past and the recovery was much easier than this. Over the past 2 weeks I have started to feel better with each passing day but still find it hard to sit in one position too long and my stomach feels very tight. Does anyone know how long that last? Does it go away at all or is this the new way my stomach will feel.

Required time for surgery is maximum 2 to 4 hours, patient kept under observation for a night or two. Patient can get back to his/her daily routine within 5-6days.
