Hi! I'm a newbie, and I've been trying to go on just advice from friends who've had this surgery...but now I want to go beyond "my circle"....
Four weeks ago, I had a breast lift with augmentation and a tummy tuck. I LOVE the results, so I'm not unhappy about that. I love my surgeon, she's awesome (as is her PA). I've had no temperatures, nothing to be concerned about at all....except PAIN. Now, I expected pain. I've had twins and a singleton...both c-sections....and knew this pain would surpass that. I knew I had skin to remove and major diastasis recti to fix.
I am allergic to codeine, percodan, percocet, vicodan, and darvocet. And Ibuprofen

I know, it's awful. And it changed how they had to do some of the aftercare, etc.
So, surgery 4 weeks ago. I spent the night at the hospital because of the pain med reactions, they wanted to make sure that I wouldn't develop a new one or anything. So, I am taking Valium (every 8 hours) and taking Dilaudid (the 'script started out at 2 every 4-6 hours...but I'm trying to take only 1 every 6 hours. The doctor really wanted me down to just ONE of one type of pain relief by this time, taking it just ONE time every day....but when I try to reduce, it's horrible. I can barely move! (And I'm kinda mean)
So, I'm trying to do 2 Valium per day for the muscle relaxation, and 3 or 4 dilaudid (hydromorphone). How long were you on the pain meds? Did you still have those times you felt like you just could not move?
Thanks so much! I do plan on calling the doctor today (or having my husband do it)....I just don't want to feel like I'm an addict calling to bogusly try to get more drugs!
