Compression garments after tummy tuck - yes or no? I just had a breast reduction and a tummy tuck after massive weight loss following lapband surgery. My surgeon does not recommend compression garments. Has anyone else has this happen? If I decide to get one anyway - (I'm not even a week out) - what type do you recommend. Please help. He is considered one of the very best surgeons in Dallas, but you don't wake up in a garment. My next appointment is Monday and I plan to talk to him about it. Thank you for any help. Penny |
Well if your plastic surgeon does not recommend compression garments, then I would follow his advice. Why do you want to use them if he doesn't want you to:confused: |
I would ask my surgeon why he specifically doesn't want me to use a garment. Maybe it's because of the lap band or the port that he doesn't want compressed. Perhaps a better alternative is a garment that is not quite as tight as the norm. I definitely felt better wearing my garment as the compression made my tummy feel better and with less pain. Good luck!! |
