Hey guys! Feeling really desperate as never would normally write on one of these forum things. No offence its just not my thing! Anyway had my f tt onwed 16 th due to loads of excess skin caused by two huge babies!! Went through hell deciing to have it done!! Got the courage and did it but now i feel awful!!! I could have handled swelling, etc... But the scar is too high!! Came home today and tried on a variety of knickers, jeans, etc... The scar can be seen well above them all!!! This defeats the whole object and i specifically told my surgeon my goal was to be able to wear a bikini again!!! I feel gutted!!! Cant see a positive outcome to this and am crying so much scared i'm doing more damage to he wound!! Any advice would be much appreciated!!! I know i need to get a grip but its just so hard i thought this was going to make me so happy?????

Hello everyone,
I am wonding if those of you who are further out can shed some light for me. I am almost 5 weeks post op and am still quite tight and swollen. I dont think i did very good pre-surgery research and i didnt realize how hard the recovery for this procedure is. I am an avid hiker... backpacker... mountain climber. i know everyone is different.... but what are some of your thoughts on the timelines for returning to these activities. I am most interested in learning how long it was before people felt "normal" (like they didnt have surgery).

By the way.... I got a lymhatic massage yesterday to help with swelling. I highly recommend it.

Hey everyone -

Wow how time flies! Its been two years now since I got the tummy tuck. Crazy!! Here is the post I just wrote up with some recent pics - Tummy Tuck Update

To answer a few of the new questions I see.... It took me about 5 to 6 weeks before I felt more "normal". But a lot longer to feel really normal. I couldnt stand up completely straight for WEEKS. I think it must have been about the same, around 5 or 6 weeks. The nurse at my PS office told me at an offce visit - "You know you can stand up straight now." (Which she said in a kind of snotty know it all voice) And I was like - "No, actually I really cant!"

To the women who, like me, ended up with a scar MUCH higher than was promised... I feel for you. I know how disappointing it is to not have the perfection you paid for. The only advice I have is to try and focus on the positive... think about how much smoother your skin is, think about how flat your tummy is now... think about anything else or it will drive you insane!
