This IS wonderful news! So happy to here you're doing well! I guess the PS did a little lipo above the belly button. It's good that he did that if he feels that it will improve the outcome.
I'm doing pretty good. I worked most of the week but by Wednesday I had to take 1/2 day and take a nap. I was very tired working 2 fulltime days in a row. I works all day today but I'm going to work from home tomorrow to work on my staff's mid-year reviews, yuk!
The nerves are coming back so I'm feeling all sorts of weird aches and pains. But they're not that bad. I continue to take tylenol when needed. I'm still somewhat swollen but it's very gradually going down. I just keep reminding myself that it takes months and I'm still less than 4 weeks out. I go back to the PS on Monday for my 4 week check. I suppose he'll be taking pictures again.
Keep us up to date with your progress and ask any questions you'd like.
Time is flying for you 4 week check up time already. When can you take a deep breath without it feeling like your sqwished. Like my shoe lace is done up to tight? I had a shower last night felt so good. Glad your still recovering so well. I am off back to bed. TTFN
Wow, you were able to take a shower already? I suppose you don't have drains. I wasn't able to shower until 24 hours after the drains came out which ended up being 1 week after surgery. I could only sponge bath. You must be doing pretty good. I don't think I was in good enough shape that soon after surgery to take a shower anyway!
I guess you're taking the pain meds. Whatever you do, make sure that you're taking stool softeners. The pain meds slow everything down.
The tightened "shoelace" or as I call it my internal "corsette" even after almost 4 weeks is still somewhat tight. Especially after I eat or I overdo it. It should improve over the 1st 2 weeks but it's very gradual after that. Like I've stated before, it could take a few months, just like the swelling.
I do have drains, two, one each side. My Doc said I could shower second day so I did. I am taking the pain meds but less often. Today I have a headache that won't leave, so I am having another shower and a cup of coffee to see if it will go away. I looked at my tummy today and I think it looks all un even did you think the same in the first week of having it done?
Yes, even after almost 4 weeks my tummy still looks somewhat swollen and uneven. However, it's still much better than the first week. I notice it mostly when I'm seated but, not so much when I'm statnding. I'm going to ask my PS about all of this stuff at my appointment tomorrow. I'll let you know what he says. My appt isn't until 5:00 so I'll let you know tomorrow night.
It's weird when the numbness wears off, you get all these aches and pains. However they're not constant. I believe that's just the way the recovery goes. I'll check on this too with my PS.
Hope the doc visit went well. Today is a good day, I am on tylenol and feel somewhat myself today. I am standing alittle straighter and I have back ache but other than that all is good Thanks for all the up dates.
