| I am nervous, any advice? I am a 31 year old mother of 3, ages 14, 12 and 3. I have had a consult for a "mommy makeover" which is the TT, BA and lipo all at once. I really want to follow thru with this preceedure, because ever since have my 2nd child I have hated the way my stomach looks! I am just scared of the pain afterwards, and I really don't want to be a burden on any of my children or husband. Realistically, what is the recovery time?? I am a stay at home mom, so I am just worried about being able to care for the little one. Please feel free to give advice, or share your experiences.
Thank you. |

| Welcome to the forum!!!
Everyone is different, but you will probably miss a week or two of work. Some people need up to a month to recover. It will take you a few weeks to feel like yourself.
If you were in good physical health pre-op, you will feel better faster.

| I believe that I am in good physical condition, I exercise and workout 3-5 days a week. Luckily I do not have to work, I am just concerned about being able to take care of my 3 year old. I am hoping to do it this summer so that my 2 older boys are home to help, but they have lots of activities of their own, I will be needing to drive them to and from places as well.
Thanks for the reply. I am hoping to be able to do everything on my own within a weeks time. |

| What is your height and weight, if you do not mind me asking?

| I just spoke to the patient coordinator at the surgery center I think I may go with. She says a minimum of 10 days before I will be able to drive my kids to and from soccer and other events. 4 days before I will be able to stand completely upright, and to give it at least a week before I allow my 3 year old to sit on my lap. Does this sound like normal recovery time?
Oh, and I think I am going to go with Dr. McCormack, or Reno, NV. Have you heard anything about her? Thanks again for the help. |

| Welcome to the forum!
Hmm... well if 10 days for driving and 4 days for standing are the minimum, I would ask to find out what the maximum would be? Like they say, hope for the best but prepare for the worst!
p.s. I hope you're in a part of California that is close to the Nevada border? Long car rides to and from won't make recovery any easier. |

| I am 7 days post op. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift with implants, and lipo of the back and flanks. I still can't stand upright yet. I don't have any children but I tell you, I can't lift my little chihuahuas yet either. I am in good shape. I exercised 4-5 times a week, etc. I think each person is different and I think it depends on what procedures are done. I had a lot done at once and sounds like you will too. My husband has been a lifesaver. Without him, I wouldn't have been able to do it. Make sure you have plenty of support and take it easy. Good luck with your surgery. |

| OK, so this is kinda weird!
I just had a tummy tuck done by Dr. McCormack in Reno. I am 3 1/2 weeks into my recovery.
I am still sore. And I feel I am still swollen. (Thats why I came on this forum - to see if its normal to still be so swollen and sore.)
Anyways, I slept in entire week after my surgery. I was barely awake at all. Thank goodness my mom lives nearby and was able to help out with my kids. I just now started driving and it hurts if I twist wrong to look over my shoulder.
I was in really good shape before my surgery. I worked out for an hour almost every day. I had lots of energy. Now? Im exhausted. All the time. I have an appt with her on Thurs and will be asking her if this is normal!
Good luck with your surgery! |

| Wow, I was really nervous before, but now I am really scared. I was hoping to be up and around within 2 weeks, but now you guys have gotten me worried. My surgery is scheduled for this Monday, July 26. I just had my pre-op meeting yesterday, and they totally made it seem like it would just be a few weeks. Hmmm...... |
