draining - WHEN WILL THE HELL END? Just had my 2nd post-op appt after my tummy tuck and STILL not able to take out my other drain yet. I still have a lot of fluids draining so I understand but still... when will this end I've had my drains in for 6 wks! I know you can't have the good without going through the bad first so I know its all a process but I really just want to be back to normal. I haven't been able to do everything I normally do. I get up and do a few things around the house then go back to bed. I can't do things like laundry because I cant carry the hamper and I can't go everywhere because I just don't have the energy. I just want to get back to feeling normal. Hopefully it will be soon. Well I'm just venting so thanks for listening. |
I totally feel your pain!! 13 days post-op and it doesn't look like this drain is leaving me anytime in the near future. I'm still draining around 100 cc's/day so I'm hoping on early next week. My doctor told me about someone that had a drain for 41 days!! That's like a month in a half! So if I'm only 13 days post op I guess I should consider how fortunate I am. Want to look at the positive? Every CC you drain is a CC of body weight :D |
Yeah don't worry 13 days is on the good side and you're right every cc out of the body is a cc of weight lol |
Hang in there naturemade! Any major surgery is usually discouraging afterwards but *hopefully* and often the final results make it all worth while. Good luck and stick it out - you'll be glad you did! |
NO MORE DRAINS!!!!!! :) :) thanks everyone for putting up with me whining like a little school girl lol. Theres still a little fluid but not enough to need a drain the doctor said the body will absorb it. yayy no more evil drains! |
So good to hear you didn't have anything go wrong. I've heard way too many horror stories from arm lifts and tummy tuck surgeries from internal bleeding or scarring problems. I think we need to all be careful and read up on everything when we get these done and not just jump and the plastic bandwagon because everyone else is doing it. These surgeries can be dangerous. |
no more drains = mission accomplished :D job well done! |
Nervous Hey everyone, I am having a Tummy Tuck, Breast Lift, and Lipo of my hips and back on 2/18/10 in a few days... I would love all of your honest opiions....I have to say I am nervous about the pain. I keep telling myself I will be find in the end it will all be worth it. How painful was your procedures? Kim |
Hi Kim, I haven't had a tummy tuck, but have heard that there will be quite a bit of discomfort at first. As the weeks go on you will feel much better. If all goes as planned it will definitely be worth it Let us know how it goes. Good luck :) |
