Tummy tuck after gastric banding

I had a gastric band placed in November 2008 and now I'm ready to shed my sagging skin. Anyone here have a band and tummy tuck?? I'm concerned with finding a plastic surgeon that has experience doing tummy tucks on patients with a gastric band. Anyone know of any surgeons in the Raleigh, NC area??

Are you planning on getting a panniculectomy, abdominoplasty, or a panniculectomy with a tummy tuck?

Are you still losing weight? If not how much weight have you lost and how long has your weight been stable?

Those are valid concerns to have, but I do think there is enough "stuff" between the stomach and the skin and muscle that would make doing a tummy tuck after gastric banding okay.

Buy yes, either way it would be smart to find a surgeon experienced with your situation. Fortunately for you, I think tummy tucks after a lap bad are very common (when there's heavy weight loss, a tummy tuck is almost always needed). Unfortunately I don't know any plastic surgeons in Raleigh or elsewhere in North Caroline, so I won't be much help giving you recommendations.

I'm just starting to research procedures and surgeons since I have ~ 40 pounds to go until I'm at my goal weight. I want a tummy tuck (not quite sure of the differences), thigh lift, breast lift/augmentation and possibly neck/arm/butt lift. The cost for these procedures in the USA is very high so I've considered going to another country. I'm also willing to travel to another state. I feel overwhelmed...the more I research the more confused I get.

You have to keep the weight off in order for you to be considered at a stable weight.

That gives you plenty of time to research. You also do NOT want to have all of the aforementioned proceduews done simultaneously.

Take it easy, ask questions, and don't give into the confusion! :)

It seems many people combine procedures to save on cost. I want to start off with having a tummy tuck, thigh lift and breast lift/augmentation as these areas are most the most unsightly. Any recommendations on surgeons in the US or South America?

I can give you recommendations to surgeons in the US, but beware PS not within the states. Regulations, laws, and qualifications vary from place to place.

Can you please pm me your recommendations for surgeons in the states? Thanks so much :)

With 40 lbs. left to go, the surgeons I know might not want to get involved. :(

Are you planning on getting a panniculectomy, abdominoplasty, or a panniculectomy with a tummy tuck?
