T/T & Breast Impants in 4 days......help...
Hello 2 all. I am a newcomer. But I am many of U up here. I go in on Friday, for both a mini T/T & breast implants. I am very nervous having them done at same time. I plan on not taking much time off of work, since I am at a new job, but have a desk job. What do you think? Any ideas on what I can expect? What is the proper clothing to wear to work while healing??
Also going on vaca in a month ( alittle over 4 weeks from surgery)- am I nuts or what??
I think Robyne did a good job covering these questions in the other thread you replied on, but I just have a question about this vacation... I think you may be a little nuts for that :p What type of vacation exactly will you be taking?
For anyone who is interested, here is a repost of my reply to 2ndchance:
"Welcome to the forum!!!
A mini tummy tuck is much less pain than a full tummy tuck. Be thankful for that.
As far as your question, you will be swollen for a few days after the mini t/t/ surgery. This is normal. You will also be in pain for about 2 weeks. You will have swelling from 2 to 6 weeks. Your bandages will have to be changed in 2 to 5 days. Your sutures will be removed in 7 to 10 days. You can return to working at a desk job in loose comfortable clothing in about a week or week and a half.
Breast implants can be very painful post op. How are they "installing" your implants? Over or under the muscle? Under the muscle looks more natural, but is more painful when healing. Pain lasts one to two weeks. There will be swelling, numbness, and bruising as well. Wait 2 to 4 weeks to exercise. If you get implants below the muscle you have to wait one or two weeks to go back to work at a desk job, depending on how you feel. Over the muscle, one week should be sufficient.
I am just providing you with some basic guidelines. Let me know if you need any more info. I'd be happy to help.
Good luck to you!!!"
Yes, and what's up with this vacation you mentioned?!?
Robyn...thanks so..very much for ur insight. I am getting the breast put in under the muscle. I am going to have to brave this all out, and somehow manage to come back to work after 4 days. I know, I know, I know, but it's anew job & what am I to do otherwise. Now as far as vacation goes, my girlfriends & I have already planned, and paid for a trip to Miami at the end of April. (which give sme about 4.5 weeks):Cat: My dr. said I will be fine by then, and that in Miami everyone is postop-lmao!!
The closer it all gets, the more nervous I truly am. To be honest the mini tummy tuck I am more worried about , then the breasts.
To be honest, especially under the muscle (which is a better long term choice), the breasts might hurt more (and longer) than the mini TT. Keep us posted!!! :D
Fun in the sun in Miami :p
My only concern would be that the strenuous activity of moving about (especially with flying!) could cause the new tummy tuck scars to stretch. How will the implants be inserted?
Ok guys, 2nd day post-op. ALL WENT WELL! I didn't realize they had even started surgery, when I woke it was done!! lol !!! The first day I was extremely tired from the meds, felt narcaleptic-lol !! Yesterday was better, I actually walked around a bit & went to go see doctor, who thought everything was doing well. My boobs are the perfect size, minus how high they are. I just hope once the swelling goes down they aren't that much smaller. I went from a small B to a full C. The pain meds are the gift. Without them I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do anything. I know I am taking it easy anyways, but I meen the pain would be intolerable just to use the bathroom w/o meds. The crazy part about it all, is that I got my friend (Period) yesterday also- UGH !! At least when I heel that will be long gone-lol !! So tomorrow I will go back to work. Today I will rest, rest and rest slightly decreasing the pain meds. My tummy tuck is going very good. The drain is annoying, but of course worth it. I can't wait to see those result, because of course that's bandaged up. This morning I woke up with buring in one breast, is that normal??? The funny thing is I can't keep my hands off my breast!! I am touching them all the time now-lol!! I'm excited now about recovery, and I thank everyone for their support, encouragement & insight. I am going to keep everyone posted on my progress & hopefully if someone comes 2 check on me today-I will take pics.
IMPLANTS INSERTED UNDER MUSCLE - THEY LOOK LIKE MINES!
Glad to hear you are satisfied with the surgeries. Burning is normal, and it is a part of the healing process.
Back to work already? That is verrrry quick, and slightly alarming. Hope all goes well.
Post some pics if you can and best of luck!!! :)
