Mine really have nothing to do with weight because I am underweight and have always been that way.

I went to that link and they listed alpha hydroxy acids as one of the supposed best treatments. What strength and how often do I apply it?

I haven't tried AHA for stretch marks but should look into it. I have some minor ones in the same area that you say yours are in.

I am in the same boat, and the stretch marks happened while exercising!
That was a fun surprise.

So, I'm in the process of dropping weight (20 lbs to go!) and with summer rolling around I would like to be able to make those suckers near invisible to the naked eye. Even by Summer 2011. There are a million products out there so I don't know which to purchase - and Palmer's cocoa butter is a joke.

If you all have some tips or recommendations of products -- let me in! I'm near willing to do voodoo, lol.

I've got some deeper, reddish ugly ones on my tummy and on my sides and thighs that are whitish but very visible. I heard tanning helps reduce the appearance, the lady at my salon told me she tanned at her baby belly stretch marks became hard to see.

Ugh, I just want to feel beautiful in a bikini again.

Helwa,

Although it is great you are on the road to losing 20 lbs., losing weight can accentuate existing stretch marks, and/or create new ones!!! Unfortunately, most of the creams and lotions are a waste of money.

The only thing I can recommend (which is just a disguise, not a fix) is using sunless tanner cream to darken the skin in the area so the stretch marks are less visible. I would advise against real tanning, since all types of UV rays are now known to be dangerous.

The Revitol stretch mark cream uses ingredients such as Squalene oil, which promotes healthy skin. While the vitamin E and grapefruit seed extracts work to strengthen the collagen elastin found deep in the epidermis. With body being to utilize these ingredients it stimulates the production of body's own natural collagen, thus your skin will become stronger and the elasticity will improve.
