Default is 40 really the new 30??

I was not sure where to post this since it is really more of a general question than anything else;

Anyway, I was just wondering if you honestly think that the saying "40 is the new 30" is true?? Or do you think it is just an expression to make people feel better about aging??

I am interested in hearing peoples viewpoints on this.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's just an expression to make people feel better about themselves and there's nothing wrong with that.

Default nobody else has anything to add??

...I am surprised that I did not get more of a response to this question about this very popular and what I believe to be a somewhat new expression.

Ehhh I kind of think it is more of an expression to make people feel better about themselves. However, it was starting to look like this was coming true with the advances in cosmetics, medicine, and even our life expectancy. However, people are dying earlier and earlier now. So I still have to wonder.
