Default CPT code scar revision
What are the scar revision CPT codes? I need reconstructive surgery to fix my scars from an accident and they told me I need to check with the CPT code with my medical insurance to see if it is covered.

Thr revision codes determine if the surgery is elective or reconstructive. The latter usually deems the surgery medically necessary. Your doctor should be able to to provide his or her office staff with the codes, so you can present it to your insurance company. At some doc's offices they will even call the insurance company for you.

I can't help you with CPT codes for scar revision but I have had the surgery on my abdomen. After the holidays I can post some pictures for you if you want. I am trying to think though what pictures I have which will show you scar before revision. I had some on my last computer but that crashed and I lost everything.
