Onion bulb extract for scars? Are they for real about using onion bulb extract to treat scars? I am highly skeptical of this method. Why is it that it helps and how much does it help? Will there be any benefit too if I start to eat more onions? I really want to know if this is a legit treatment or if it is some latest craze that is not going to work. |
Hypothetically, there is evidence it COULD work. I'm not sure if you would have to eat it or use it topically. I'd go with Mederma or a more permanent method. |
It's listed on the ingredient labels as allium cepa. I tried using it years ago for a surgical scar and didn't see any real results. That being said I do have olive skin that scars easily and I didn't use it as directed (mutliple times per day for a few weeks) so maybe if I used it correctly it would have helped. I do know someone though that used onion bulb scar treatment and she had great results so it's different for everybody. |
