Default Chest tube scar revision

Hello,

I had pericardial tamponade from H-flu when child and bilateral effusions; had two chest tubes, one pericardial drain (?) and large vertical scar over heart. It was performed very fast obviously. I am lucky to by alive but for some reason I am now very self conscious of my pericardial drain scar-it looks very much like a second belly button. Growing up and as an adult people have thought its a belly button. I don't care about the scar, but can an indentation such of this be improved upon? If straightforward what is a reasonable cost? It doesn't help to have a bunch abdominal scars too, but at least they just look like scars.....

I am a resident and saw PICU cardiac babies/kids. All their chest tube scars look far better then mine ever did! They obviously have changed closure techniques! This rotation made me start to think about my scars...

Thx,
Michelle
