| Urgent Scar Revision Needed - Breasts This appears to be a very informative forum and I certainly need some advice! My wife underwent a breast augmentation procedure with a doctor (not properly certified to do so). This left her with large keloid or hypertrophic scars (not sure of the exact type) and has basically destroyed her self confidence (and our marriage almost). We are in litigation now against the doctor (and their are other victims seeking resolution).
I've done some research on the Internet but I'm having a hard time locating top scar revisionists to consult. We've met with two local surgeons and they both say that not much can be done. Many people have attested to success from surgical removal of the scar followed by radiation (to prevent regrowth). That's why I want to find other surgeons that we can consult (regardless of where they are located). We live in NC. Any advice? Please help! |

| You might want to research Recell, which has been approved overseas for scar treatment.

| Robyne00,
Thank you so much for the quick response. I've had a chance to glance over Recell and it looks to be an amazing product. I appreciate your assistance! |

| No problem. I discussed Recell with another member or two on this forum quite some time ago. You might want to do a search to get some additional info.

| Top Scar Revision Surgeons Any advice you can give on how to locate top scar revision surgeons (regardless of location)? I am still checking into ReCell but depending on if the scars are hypertrophic or keloid other methods may be needed (excision followed by radiation, etc). Thanks! |

| That type of scarring is largely based on genetic predisposition are you sure the surgeon is 100% to blame?
Regardless stay strong because this is something that can be improved. I would begin the search with a dermatologist to first determine the type of scarring. If it is a keloid it will need to be treated in a much different way. |

| Thank you for the input Mr. Z. Certainly the surgeon is not 100% to blame, however, we later found out that he misled many of his clients into believing that he had done work (that he had not), promised that no scars would be left on the breasts (they were), etc.
We will stay strong, determine the exact type of scar and go from there. Thanks again! :C) |
