Lip Snarl Repair
 

Hi All,
Forgive me if this post is in the wrong forum, but I did not see another forum that seemed right to put in in...Admins please move it if it would belong elsewhere!

I was involved in a motorcycle accident early in the summer, in which the motorcycles wind screen did pretty severe damage to my mouth and lips...the ER surgeon had to put over 250 stitches into putting together my lips and tongue, and considering the amount of damage that was present, I think he did an amazing job! That being said, I now have a permanent "Snarl" in my upper lip due to him having to stitch up a hole in the skin above my lip on the right side of my face, See Pic Below:

So my questions for you are;
1) Can this somehow be fixed?
2) Is there a time limit to how long I should wait to have it done?
3) What is your best guesstimate on what something like this would cost...I am in the Cleveland Ohio area, If that makes a difference...I have no insurance, so the full amount would be coming out of pocket, so I am trying to plan for the cost!

I was in a severe accident years ago and can sympathize with what you are going through.

Perfection is not possible but with the right surgeon(s) I do believe it can be improved.

Cosmetically speaking, the sooner the better. If there is functional healing that is still occurring it may be necessary to wait. Consult a physician to find out.

Cleveland Clinic could be a great place to start. They are world renowned for trauma reconstruction and performed the first face transplant which was not too long ago.

The price can vary on a number of factors- will one surgery be all it takes or will it be a series of surgeries? When consulting with doctor(s) stress that you are uninsured and plead for a discount. Another option may be to buy into Obama's high risk pool which starts next month but if this is considered purely cosmetic in nature it won't be covered.
