Hey i had to get my abdomen cut open for taking out the spleen. The scar is sick and i want to get scar revision surgery. What does it cost? The scar is about 4" and a half inch wide. Tell me too if there is any way i can get insurance to pay for some or all of it. I'm a student and can't afford scar revision if it costs more than like $500.

Scar revision usually starts at $500-$700 and can go upwards of $3,000. Price factors depend on who you go to, where the revisionist is based out of (general location), type of scar, and severity of the scar. You might want to try microdermabrasion, which can be done on the body, except for the ears. Laser resurfacing is also an option.

I think your location is the biggest factor that determines your scar revision cost. For the type of scar you are talking about, I'm sorry to say but I would be surprised if you could do that for under $500. As Robyne mentioned, laser scar treatment is another option, but that can be costly (again, depending on your location) and although it can help with discoloration, it won't be useful for the skin's texture.

Dang I didn't know a scar revision costs that much. I won't be able to do it then until summer. Thanks for the answers.
