"In 2009, Discovery Communications will cease the broadcasting of the Discovery Health Channel and replace it with OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network."  OPRAH!!??
OPRAH IS TAKING OVER OUR NETWORK!??! I WANT TO WATCH PLASTIC SURGERY SHOWS NOT OPRAH BOOK CLUB!!!

Rumor has it that Oprah will be making an announcement about this and leaving her network show in 2011 when her contract expires. She hasn't renewed it yet.

I think this is a smart move. Her ratings are down 42% from 5 years ago and now she's competing with Ellen. It's better to go out while you're still ahead.

I agree with you, Mr.Z, regardless of my feelings about the "BIG O". Quitting while you're ahead is better than plummeting and being told to leave.
