I am about to get my first rhinoplasty and at my appointment this morning the doctor told me I need a lateral strut graft, to open my nose more. My family all have hook noses that go down when they are older and he said the strut graft would help with that. What is a lateral strut graft, any photos I can see of it?

It can be good or bad depending on the candidate. Do you have a strong chin/jawline?

There are pros and cons to this type of rhinoplasty.

Does your surgeon only perform nose jobs in this manner? If so, I'd see a few other surgeons. This type of surgery is for a specific type of client. It is also a newer procedure. Remember it will make the inside of your nose feel thicker as well.

Can you post some pics? That would really assist the members of the forum to help you.
