5th day post op. Is it normal for your nasal bones to move?
 

Last night I was looking in my cosmetic little powder mirror and I accidently dropped it but my reflexes caught it on my chest. When that happened, I think I heard and felt a bone move in my bridge. It did not hurt and I called my Dr.'s office and spoke to a nurse. She told me since I didn't have any swelling, bruising, or bleeding from it then I should be ok but to mention it to the doctor on fri when I get the cast off. The nurse thought that it could be bones readjusting because the swelling is going down. I don't know if I am imagining it now but my bridge feels stiff. I am just very worried that I screwed it up. I have been so careful and I just don't understand how a little movement like that could screw it all up. It's not like I bumped it real hard or bent over. If anyone has any input I would appreciate it. Also, will the Dr. be able to tell if the bones did shift? Thanks

Your nose can shift post rhinoplasty in the first few weeks. You end up (usually) having a better looking nose than pre-op, but not a perfect nose.

So, are you saying it is normal? I don't expect to have a perfect nose but by it shifting, does that mean it is not what the Dr. intended originally? It can't be that easy to screw it up. Can it?:confused:

Is it natural? Yes. Is it desirable? No. You will NOT have the results that the doc originally desired. Time will tell.

I would see the plastic surgeon immediately, if you haven't already. I bumped my nose months after my revision rhinoplasty, and I still think it may have contributed to my deformed strut graft :(

Um not normal. I don't think my bones ever moved after surgery.
