I'm a young mom of 2. I've spoken to my husband on many occassions about my insecurities of my nose and I am pretty tired of hearing "I love you the way you are, it's why I married you." While I know that I am extremely lucky to have married such a man, the years of insecurities have brought me into sheer depression. I feel ugly, manly, and over all disgusted by my nose. I have tried every approach to make my nose appear smaller however at the end of the day... it's still just there... staring right back at me.

I have finally made the decision to have my nose corrected but I have no where to start. Here are some pix... I have been dreading this all day and have contemplated whether or not I should just delete this account that I made today and just live my life being unhappy with my nose. So here goes nothing!

Your nose is pretty average so don't beat yourself up too much. But if you want to change it that's your right and it sounds like it's something you've thought out for a while now.

I know about a few good rhinoplasty surgeons but none in Florida. Are you going to do the surgery locally?

The profile pic reveals some flaws that could be improved upon, however, like Mr. Z said your nose is somewhat average. What do you want to modify exactly? What would constitute YOUR perfect nose (specifics for your nose)? Please do not say a celebrity nose. It never works out that way.

A celebrity nose? Ha hardly. I'd like to get rid of the hump and soften the nostrals if that makes any sense. The hump on the bridge is my main concern.

I can concur with working on the bump and perhaps getting the tip shaved. The reason why I said do not say a celeb nose is because many patients go to thair doc's office with a photo of a celebrity and say they want their nose. First and foremost, although the star may look good with said nose, who is to say it will work with the rest of the patient's appearance? It's an unrealistic expectation, that lets the patient down and can lead to a spiral of multiple surgeries, or even worse ... Body Dysmorphic Disorder ... worsened when surgery has already occurred. It is also to the docs' financial gain to pretend they can make Mary look like Queen Mary, so regardless of accreditation, if they are not out for the patient's best interest they will say, "Yes, I can make you look like Angelina ... with this tweak". Rubbish!

Personally I think your nostrils are fine. What do you mean "soften" them? Clarification would be most appreciated.

You cannot say it would look good on everyone. If an African-American had that nose it would look unnatural and throw the entire face off balance. It would not look good on an Asian person either, or a person with a very full face, just to cite a few examples.

It does look good on him, I agree with that.
