Default Need Revision Rhinoplasty in NYC: Any Experiece with Dr. Edward Kwak?( See Gallery)

Hi,

i just met with Dr. Edward Kwak in regards to a revision rhinoplasty and while i thought he understood what issues i had and seemed very knowledgeable i'm a little worried that he has very limited experience. He is rather young and doesn't have a ton of before/after photos. I also can't find any comments or info on him in the internet. Has anyone out there had a procedure with Dr. Kwak? If so please let me know as I need to find out as soon as possible.

Also, just wanted to note that i met with over 10 different doctors and did an extensive amount of research before deciding which doctor to go with for my first surgery and it still didn't turn out so well. Seems like after a certain point it's just plain luck that you end up with a nose that you're happy with and can live with.

Here are some images of my original nose and rhinoplasty, the last three pics are my original nose.

Plastic surgery has NOTHING to do with luck 99% of the time. It has to do with skill, experience, patience, and dedication.

Kwak is well known in the Asian community. The only people I know who have seen him are Asian. If you're Asian maybe you should go for it!

Hello Sienna,

Per your message, I have reviewed your photographs and in my opinion here are the changes I recommend:
  • Further definition of the top two-thirds of the nasal bridge with an emphasis on the top third, however that doe not mean it should be narrowed. Many plastic surgeons make the mistake of narrowing the bridge excessively which only makes the tip appear wider. Make sure you choose a surgeon who is aware of this because many are not. The best way to determine if they understand this concept is by viewing before and after photographs of their patients.
  • Improving bulbous tips are always a challenge. The lateral crus will buckle and collapse if it is overly corrected, which is why it's vital to have a surgeon highly experienced with revision rhinoplasty. The lighting in your two before photographs varies significantly from the others. If possible please post an additional before with similar lighting to your after photographs. I would prefer to see this before I comment further on the tip.
