Next year I am getting a second rhinoplasty to fix breathing problems want to know know how much Blue Cross Blue Shield will cover?

I do not know the name of my plan. It is a PPO with a $500 deductible and a maximum out of pocket of $2,000. I am going to go out of network because there are no good surgeons I can find that are part of the Blue Shield system. I think they pay 50% out of network after the deductible is met but up to what amount?

I'd ask whoever gave you the original info regarding payment.

It's tricky when you are going out of network sometimes.

What you need to do is get the procedure codes from the doctor and call up your insurance to find out the maximum they will cover for them out of network.

You should know though that Blue Cross Blue Shield is notorious for scamming their patients. I heard that they barely pay a few hundred dollars toward a deviated septum. How are you supposed to find a board certified plastic surgeon for that price, let alone one that does rhinoplasty well?

Blue Cross Blue Shield is well known for overcharging, unnecessarily denying procedures their consumers are entitled to, and the list goes on. They make things so tough for their insured.
