Hi, i'm seriously considering rhinoplasty to remove a small bump on the side of my bridge... I asked my doctor about recovery time and he told me that most swelling would be gone in a couple of weeks, though some residual welling would last for up to six months. However, i've been reading lot of posts on this board and other boards and it seems like this isn't true. Many people have been saying that their swelling lasted for longer than two weeks and their residual swelling lasted for a lot longer than six months.

I was wondering if anyone on here who had had their bridge reshaped, or a bump removed (no tip work) could share with me their experiences about this?

My sister had the bump removed from her nose 18 years ago, and the results were (and still are) fabulous. It was very painful for her post-op, but it definitely was worth it. She looks even more beautiful.

Yes I have and your doctor is lying if he's saying swelling will last two weeks there is no such thing as an operation where it's only that brief.

I would look elsewhere because he doesn't sound like a doctor you can trust. If it's your first rhino I would say the bad swelling will last 2 months and residual swelling will a half year or more. Anything less than that is unrealistic and he is probably just sugar coating this to get you to get the surgery.
