Take a second chance of improving nose deformities with revision rhinoplasty

There are millions of people across the globe that opts to undergo rhinoplasty for achieving a more attractive and natural-looking appearance of the nose. The statistics say that rhinoplasty is one of the most commonly performed facial cosmetic procedures today. However, what happens you’re your rhinoplasty surgery goes wrong? It can be either because of the carelessness of the surgeon or some severe complications which happened during surgery. Whatever is the reason, but at the end you are not happy with the outcome and this concerns everyone. Revision rhinoplasty, or secondary rhinoplasty, can correct problems arising from the previous rhinoplasty procedure. It can reshape and restore the modified nasal framework so that an improved facial harmony is achieved.

The most familiar reasons for which patients undergo revision rhinoplasty include the omission of visible scarring, treating problems which happened due to unforeseen complications, experiencing difficulty while difficulty or simply not being happy with the aesthetic results. If you are considering revision rhinoplasty, it is generally advised not to use the same surgeon who performed your primary procedure as there might still be chances that he can go wrong somewhere. Additionally, for secondary rhinoplasty surgeries, you need the help of a more specialised surgeon; thankfully there are many revision rhinoplasty surgeons in New York who perform only the secondary procedure.

Owing to the changes made in the first nose job, there are certain restrictions to what can be achieved with the next surgery. Revision rhinoplasty can differ significantly in the degree of surgery required. In most of the required modifications are very slight, such as tiny bumps can be filed down with a silicone implant. But secondary rhinoplasty becomes more intricate when the primary surgery affects the functionality of the nose. Impaired breathing can be considered the most difficult condition after a failed nose job; hence, the rhinoplasty surgeons, after getting consent from the patient, always aim to craft an aesthetically pleasing nose along with restoring function.

Revision rhinoplasty requires exceptional analytical and surgical skill. Only surgeons with extensive training and significant rhinoplasty experience can restore breathing function and improve less-than-desirable results from previous nose surgery.

Revision rhinoplasty is not a simple procedure and should be handled with the utmost care by a cosmetic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplsty. Of course ideally you'd want to get it right the first time but mistakes do happen and it's important to remember that even if you do suffer from complications as a result of a botched rhinoplasty, there are ways to correct the procedure with revision rhinoplasty.
