Septoplasty: the surgery done to correct a deviated septum

Three years ago, as a player of basketball team in college, I broke my nose during a match. To be very frank, it was extremely painful to the extent that I could not concentrate anywhere else initially. One week later, I scheduled a consultation with a popular nose surgeon in my locality. He examined my nose with the help of an endoscope, which he put almost 3 inches inside my nose. As a result, he was able to find out that my septum was deviated and thus scheduled me for a CT scan. After the CT scan, the surgeon was very much sure that I needed to go through a septoplasty procedure in order to correct my deviated septum.

As instructed by the surgeon, I entrusted him completely and underwent septoplasty within seven days of consulting him. After few days of surgery, he took off the splint that was fitted on the outside of my nose. You would not believe that now I could actually breathe so easily and also my nose looked aesthetically appealing. I pride myself on taking the decision at the right time. After some days I asked him to remove the sutures that were sticking out. He sprayed some solution in my nose and then covered the inner nose with Neosporin. After this both my nostrils felt completely clear. I would definitely recommend septoplasty surgery in New York to everyone.

Whether due to a birth defect or accident, a deviated septum is one of the most irritating and sometimes harmful medical issues. For those who are not aware, the septum is a partition in the nasal cavity which divides the nostrils. If the septum is deviated for any reason then it can obstruct air flow and cause chronic sinus problems. Septoplasty is the only solution to alleviate this suffering. The most common side effects associated with this surgery include swelling and momentary numbness. The surgery can cause a small scar underneath the nose, but it is a fair deal considering that it allows you to breathe normally and improve chronic sinus issues.
