Hi all, I had septoplasty many years ago following an assault. My septum was obstructing my breathing and the gristle part at the bottom of my nose was completely wedged over to my right side.

After the operation it seemed to look OK but then I noticed the gristle was still wedged to the right, but they just reshaped the septum so I could breathe properly and it looked better. Thing is, I've only just noticed in photographs that now the very top of my lip directly under my nose kind of dips inward, creating a horrible camel type lip!

It's not severe and it didn't show in the mirror, only when I turn completely to the side, but it is noticeable because it shows in photos and therefore obviously everyone else can see it.

First of all, I would like to know, is the gristle part of the nose not moveable/repairable?

If so, why did they just bend the septum to counteract it?

If it is fixable, do I have grounds to have it fixed despite it being over ten years ago?

I am very conscious of my looks and it is bothering me a lot, it's just that I've only just noticed it, and while it doesn't look terrible, it makes me look uglier than I was before.
