I got rhinoplasty surgury 11-16-11 and my nose doesnt look how i want it too. the tip looks the same as before the surgury. is it just because its still swollen? if it is swelling when will it go down and look normal? im nervous this is how it is going to stay.. tomorrow will be week 2 post op for me.

I also had rhinoplasty and 3 other procedures done on Nov 16, 2011, and like you, am unhappy with the results at this time. As far as the swelling, it seems that all each case is different and the swelling can last months and up to a year. From what I've read, the tip takes the longest to lose the swelling. Good luck to you. This has been a very difficult time for me too. I had another good cry this morning and can't stop looking in the mirror. I also keep looking at my old photos and wishing I could have just been happy with myself but too late for that now. I only hope that time will be kind and that I'll either get used to my new look or that the doctor will work with me to get the results I was hoping for.

yes i am glad someone else can relate to this. i also cant breathe at all and its going to be 3 weeks tomorrow. it stinks i cant blow my nose, is your nose stuffy as well?

Yes, my nose is stuffy and I hope this is temporary. It's bad enough that I'm not happy with the looks of the rhinoplasty so I hope I didn't give myself sinus problems on top of that. I am really regretting this and wish I would have been happy with the natural beauty God gave me instead of trying for perfection. I thought my tip was too bulbous and now I wish I had that bulbous tip to keep my nose closer to my mouth. There is too much space between my mouth and nose now and I can see my nostrils when I look in the mirror. I hope as the swelling goes down it gets better and not worse. This is stupidest thing I've ever done.

lynn: yeah i am so depressed with how i look right now im crying. i thought id feel better about myself after i got it done and i feel worse. i am so dissapointed. my tip is the same as before. hopefully this isnt how it is suppose to look because i clearly told my doctor i didnt want a big tip. maybe it is just still swollen idk
p.s tomorrow is going to be 4 weeks after surgury.

I'm so sorry to hear that...hang in there. I've read other posts from people that say it takes months or longer for the swelling to go down so give it some time. I hope it gets better and I'm sorry for you. Same thing here...I cry several times a day now. I had a doctor's appt yesterday and I was crying when I got there. I took him a picture of my old profile and a new one. I looked so much better in the old one. We never discussed changing anything but narrowing the bridge and contouring the tip so it wasn't round on top. He raised it and I look like a different race now. I had also been stupid enough to let them talk me into other procedures I didn't even need and now my neck is ruined. I pray that it is temporary.

yeah i am going to see the surgeon jan 2nd. everytime someone asks me if i got my nose done i cry lol. as for your appearance im sure it is temporary and if its not and you dont like it you can always get it fixed, maybe since he messed it up he will do it for free? and is ur tip still swollen btw?

I believe my tip is still swollen because it is hard and numb. there is also some obvious swelling on the sides of my nose and still tender. I read if you have thick or oily skin, it takes longer for the swelling to go down. Good luck to you Marriet.
