| Flying after rhinoplasty? Hi all,
I'm hoping to fly from CA to NYC about 12 days after my surgery. I'm having a rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. My doctor said to wait at least 10 days after surgery, so I should be fine, but I'm just wondering how uncomfortable this will be? I've got people helping me with luggage and everything, and I'm not expecting to do anything strenuous at all in NYC (just going back to my parents' house). I'm mainly concerned about the flight itself and swelling/dryness that may occur.
I know a lot of people have traveled for their procedure, so can anyone comment about their experience? |

Sorry I can't help with your question, but do you mind sharing who your doctor is ? I'm looking for a doctor to do my rhinoplasty and septoplasty this summer and I haven't been able to found anyone yet. |

I would take Arnica Montana starting now and up until 2 weeks post-op to help keep swelling and bruising down. The only fear I have for you is that I had alot of congestion post-op, so that may stink on a plane...you *can* take decongestants post-op though so you may want to do that! |

| Hi Fille,
I don't think you should worry too
much about it. I didn't have to fly for my surgery, but I had a job out of state about 45 days after surgery and I had to fly to LA from NYC. I wad worried too. But honestly, my nose felt when I touched it, the slimmest/thinnest so far. Now I am 6 months post-op. I thought it would get all swallen up, but just the opposite happened.
Good luck with your surgery!! |

| I had rhino and septoplasty and flew from Florida to Los Angeles. This was 12 days after surgery and I was fine!! My nose didn't swell at all...the ONLY thing was the pressure caused me to get an awful awful headache throughout the flight. I took a painkiller they gave me for the surgery and felt fine! Went out the next night no problems at all. |
