It's been 38 days and my cheeks are still swolen--not tons, but noticeable to me and others. I did swell a lot after rhinoplasty, and two days after had an alergic reaction to the antibiotics, but I can't find mention cheek swelling going on this long. My surgeon says it can take up to 3 months. Is this normal? Is there something I can do?

The proceedures were: Rhinoplasty with osteotomy (just bridge and small touch up on tip), septoplasty and turbinate reduction.

Also, I bruised badly after surgery, and now I still have a light brown small stain above each cheekbone. Will that go away?

Hey Hun I had my nose done n my eyes n cheeks n nose swelled up it took a good three to four weeks for it to go down..just b patient n hang in it takes a good year for the final results..ESP if you got your tip it's sore n big..it will get better ..I wish I could post some pix to show you..I just got mine done in dec n I love it by the forth month it starts changing a lot more then the first couple months just give it time I hope this helps.... Just use ice packs n it seems like when u wake up in morning it's hard as rock n stiff ..when I'm under water in the shower it softens..it's bc the tissue n everything ..mines no longer sore but still seems num at times. message me anytime n we can talk bout it..just don't worry I'm sure it will b fine

Try taking Arnica Montana supplements... it should help with the swelling...you can try the gel too!

swelling is normal like they said.
I'm 6 months post-op now and tip is still
swallen a bit( I had minor work done on my tip ad well). Your nose will continue to change weekly, but you will start noticing slight changes after the first two months and then in the 4th and 5th month mostly. I am hoping my tip will continue to shrink, because I think it's still a little big.
Usually in the mornings when you wake up, the nose will appear bigger and swallen, but it will go down quickly. The tip takes the longest from what I hear.

Definitely take Arnica Montana homeopathic medicine by mouth and I also used the Arnica gel on my face. It did help a lot. At least the visible swelling should diminish. However there will
still be some minor swelling which only you will see. But this will go away after the first month. At least this was my own experience.
