After a rhinoplasty with packing put in the nose, how many follow up appoints are necessary and when are they?

I am moving out of town as soon as possible after my surgery and want to know how many days I need to stay.

You will need to go back to your doctor to have the cast removed after 6-7 days. So you need to be in town for that. And after that the first follow-up is a month from the day you get the cast taken off. And the next one would be three months away from the first 1month follow up ( or approximately 4 months post op). At least this is what I had to do so far.

I am wondering if the 4 month post op is even necessary.

A lot of time doctors will ask you to come back to just to make sure everything is ok.

My doctor told me to go and I went. I actually wanted to go. I am going again in four months.
One never knows how the nose will heal. You might need to ask your doctor questions, if your nose worries you. It's good to be reassured things will get better and the nose will heal and will look as you want it to.
Also, they might take pics and show you how it changes as you go.

I suggest you go for the follow up.
It's not that he would do anything on your follow up appointments. It's more as a peace of mind.
It's pretty much for you.

But your doctor should be able to tell you when to go and if you need follow ups since you live out of town.
