Anyone had Rhinoplasty under Local Anesthesia?
 

Hi ya'all, I am due for nose augmentation surgery next month! I'm gonna have it done under Local Anesthesia. If you have done the same procedure under Local Anesthesia, please let me know! I'm kinda worried cuz i dont want to be awake hearing/seeing my surgeon cutting my nose open. :barf: Im a noob and really need answers! Please helppp :) Thanks in advance!!! ;)

I have never heard of a full rhinoplasty with only local.

Never a full rhinoplasty but sometimes minor revision work may be done using local anesthesia.

You know, it's funny you say that. I thought so, too.
But, a friend of mine got her nose reshaped about 12-13 years ago. Not in the US, but in an eastern european country. Her nose was really big with a big hump and she wanted to get a drastic change in her nose, so she made it turned up. And I believe in order to do this change in her nose, she had had an open rhinoplasty procedure. And she had it done under local anesthesia. She told me they started with putting the local anesthesia, which is injections right into her nose(might have been through her nostrils, even. Not sure on that.). But she said it was extremely painful. So, she was awake during the whole procedure, but not feeling pain of course. This sounds like a nightmare. I don't know how long her surgery lasted either.
I don't know if anyone in the US ever performed a rhinoplasty under local anesthesia, even that many years ago.

Hello, I just had tip revision under local. I was really worried about that too. I remember everything that happened during the surgery, but really didn't feel too much. He sedated me also, so although I could hear everything I didn't care. Good luck!
