Plastic surgery consultation fee - what is a reasonable price? Just want to gauge everyone's opinion on how much I should pay for initial consultations. I'm in the midst of choosing a rhinoplasty surgeon, and of the 3 appointments I've made so far: 1 is free, but only spent 15 minutes with doctor, the other 45 minutes were spent with the "consultant" 1 is $140 for consultation for me and mom together 1 is $250 per person I originally thought most doctors offer free consultation, but I guess that's not true? In this case, what would be a reasonable price range? Thanks! |
Take this for what it's worth.. You can't measure how good a surgeon is based on consult cost. I say this because your main concern should be finding a reputable surgeon not how much the consult costs, because needing a revision will cost way more than a consult so worry about the surgeon's capableness first, it will save you money in the long run. |
It depends on the area. In major metropolitan areas like Los Angeles $150 is about average but there are many qualified surgeons who do free consultations. I find it really depends on the patient and the physician. When someone is serious about getting surgery a fee may not be charged even if the practice typically charges for consultations. |
