I'm currently at day 7 (surgery was last Tuesday afternoon) and I'm pretty much back to my old self and just wish this cast came off now.
I looked at the video, what a brave guy to go public like that... I didn't see who did his surgery.
hey did you get really bruised? You said your at day 7, I pm'd you to find out what day you were on before I saw this post. Anyway are you bruised now..?
I like this Culvert guy more and more...
i hate that I have to go so far to see him though... geeze you'd think I'd find someone in the Bay area I would trust... but so far I haven't...
Thanks kooie :) Just got back from meeting a few friends for some frozen yogurt :)
I have no self-confidence issues really - people are so busy with themselves, they wouldn't care if I ran around with five cats and a poodle on my head. At least here in LA haha
I really had no bruising except for a tiny, tiny bit under my eyes but nobody except for me noticed them at all. I had no swelling at first but I did not ice at all after the first few hours and then got some swelling on my cheeks. But really not that bad. Also, no part of my face is numb, not even my nose tip which I am really surprised about.
yeah your right, here in Northern Ca no one would notice cats on your head either... lol
hope you got that cast off!!!!
wish I was at that level again ( as in sitting here with a cast on - that's pretty sick though considering I just got a cast off my nose 6 days ago)
I am still liking calvert to do the revision.
Day 9 and the cast got off and the splints removed today and I couldn't be happier - great, very natural outcome. Like I said the days before, I am 100% back to normal - no fatigue, no congestion at all anymore, everything is fine. The nose is obviously still somewhat swollen but really not that bad and I'd take the swollen version even if it stayed like that. The removal itself was no problem at all, no pain not even discomfort. I had far worse bandaid removals than that haha
Recovery has been a bitch for the first three days, but then it's really a breeze.
I will post a more detailed report on how I approached it and why I think it went so smoothly including before & after pictures later. A little bit in a rush now but just wanted to share my excitement with you guys
Just posted an update from after the cast removal. Doing really great and I'm happy with the results - what more could you ask for? Since I always went out with the cast and now with the tape people keep asking me about my nose which is annoying but expected if you're like me and can't stay at home for long without going nuts :)
The days in the videos don't really correlate with my appointments - I had the surgery last week Tuesday afternoon and got the cast off this week Wednesday morning. So it's also just about a week with the cast on. My surgeon recommends to tape for the next few days and then for two more weeks only at night to minimize swelling. Neither the cast nor the tape hold me off from getting outside though.
We'll see how it all turns out, right now I am very happy with it except for the tip swelling but that should go down a lot still as you said.
Did you take your videos down?
I did - I'll share some before/after photos here later though!
Excellent!!! I look forward to seeing them! :)
