I was going to be in NY next week and of all the docs in Manhattan thought Dr. Pearlman's website and photos were most impressive but now I'm torn!

He has VERY mixed reviews all over the internet, with a lot of negative reviews on ratemds.com as being arrogant and awful. How accurate is that website's reviews and how is it monitored?

Also, anyone at all who has first hand experience with Pearlman, good or bad, please post or pm me as soon as you can. I don't want to waste my time and money on a consult if he is not a good revision specialist. I need tip work done and want someone good in either NY or Florida...preferably the later.

I have seen mixed results. Sometimes he is a bit too aggressive in his approach, particularly with bridgework and ethnic rhinos in my personal opinion. Some of his revisions are quite good. He is another surgeon who is into "creating an experience".

do you like pearlman, rizk or someone else directly in manhattan primarily for tip revision (need alar retraction addressed in particular). Feel free to pm me. Not having that much luck with my Florida search.

I'll be consulting with Pearlman (and others) this week and possibly Rizk next week. It may or may not be useful, but we ought to share info/impressions. I'll post mine on this thread or on my recent New York Revision Surgeons thread. And if there's anyone else around NYC that you've heard good buzz about, by all means let me know.

I saw him for a consultation recently. I'll go into more detail when I summarize my collected consults later in another thread. For now, suffice it to say, I was favorably impressed. Definitely knowledgeable and experienced; he homed in on and addressed my specific concerns in a way that other surgeons (including my primary, alas) really haven't come near. He's pricey ($250 for the consult, ~$15K for a revision), but nevertheless, he is now on my short list.
