| Rhinoplasty is Thailand or Hong Kong - Where do I start? Hello all,
I've been unhappy with the shape of my nose since the age of 12 when I started to examine myself in the mirror closer than before. Over the years it became, well, worse. I have a rather overprojected nose with a droopy tip and I've been told several times that I look like a witch or Pinnochio and other unflattering things
I'm of European descent but currently based in Asia. I want to do the rhinoplasty in Thailand or Hong Kong, but I don't know which surgeons are good! And I have no idea where/how to check this information. Currently I would only like to have the tip of my nose reduced, so I would like to know which surgeons specialise in nose tip reduction that are in my region?
I would be extremely gratefull for any help/tips on this subject
Thanks your your time,
Silvija |

| Welcome to the forum!!!
I do not know of any highly credible surgeons in your area of the world, however, one very important point for you to remember is that surgical credentials vary from country to country. In your area of the world there are many surgeons who would not be qualified to practice elsewhere. Conversely, there are others who have honed their craft judiciously, and would be qualified to practice in other places.
Have you done any research on specific surgeons? Maybe you could post some pics to attain some guidance from forum members?

I found a centre that does Rhinoplasty, and shows credentials of their specialists. The thing is that I don't know which specialist does what here's the site: ENT Specialist - ENT Centre - Ear, Nose & Throat Centre
I'm thinking to make an appointment with them and will ask them to show me before and after photos of their clients, ask how often they perfprm the procedure and to see their credentials. They don't write much about their rhinoplasty services, so this is suspicious to me. I looked for some other places but they don't look very trustable. |

| Sometimes ENT docs are originally strict medical docs who take CE (continuing education) classes and become plastic surgeons.
Ths is one of the major issues overseas, even though this particular scenario occurs in the US. Different countries offer various qualifications, with many different regulations, if any at all. Be careful!!!

| If you could, it might be a good idea to check out South Korea for the surgery. They are filled with plastic surgeons and lots of experienced ones at that. I have heard that a lot of people go there for surgery. The expenses might be a little higher than Thailand or HK though. |

| It is actually not that expensive..maybe around $2,000-3,000. I am considering getting rhinoplasty in Korea some time later also. I could give you some websites of doctors if you like. I have been researching a lot and saw that a lot of people from different Asian countries go all the way to Korea to get it done. And actually, since there is a lot of competition in Korea (since there are plastic surgeons all over the place) It might be a little cheaper. But I have heard of people getting it done in Thailand also, but I am not so sure about HK. |
