Default Rhinoplasty swelling remedies

10 days out from my 2nd revision rhinoplasty and found a swelling remedy this time around that has helped tremendously. I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond before surgery and bought two triangle pillow wedges. The instructions say to put them on top of the mattress but I did something different- inserted them under the mattress. I put one under each side of the mattress and that gives the whole top side a 7 inch incline. That way I am not sleeping directly on the foam. This ensures the neck up is always above the heart. Give it a try.

other rhinoplasty swelling remedies-

no salt- I cut out salt all the way. No frozen food, soups or processed foods because they're loaded with salt. Read ingredients of everything and be strict about it. This should be done starting 2 weeks before rhinoplasty. I'm going to stick to it for at least 4 weeks after surgery.

bromelain- spread out the bromelain doses to maintain more stable blood levels. I am doing 500 mg/4x daily. Don't forget that heat/pasteurization kills it making canned and refrigerated pineapple juice useless. Take it in supplement form and eat fresh pineapple.

arnica montana 30x- I am slipping a 3 or 4 pellets under my tongue every 3 to 4 hours.

I bought a recliner and have been sleeping on it ever since; it's been already two weeks, but the recliner keeps me at an angle at all times. This was a great investment; it's extremely comfortable during recovery and it also helps with drainage and swelling!

Day 17- the amount of swelling continued to decrease considerably during the past week. This is an open rhinoplasty that is healing like it was a closed. As funny as it may sound that's worrisome- my current level of swelling is comparable to the 4 or 5 month mark in my first revision. I know all too well the swelling will continue to do down and I'm hoping that doesn't involve visible grafts at 6 to 12 months.

I would be perfectly satisfied if my nose stayed how it was today but it will inevitably change over the next year.

I'm right there with you haha
My tip swelling has to go down but aside from that please stay that lol

Also, I sleep on approximately 6 pillows right now and start getting back problems from that. When did you start sleeping normally again without the elevation?
