Default Dr. David Pearson (Florida) feed back for primary

Looked at Dr. David Pearson's site and I liked that he shows a lot of pictures from different angles of his patients. They look decent. Anyone whoís had a personal experience or heard of his work please post your feedback. Iím trying to decide if I should make a consultation.

thx!

Never choose a surgeon based upon morphs or B&A internet pics. Many surgeons are now purchasing B&A pics for their sites too. Very scary. Caveat emptor!

Note: This comment has nothing to do with Dr. David Pearson but the industry in general.

so how are we supposed to choose a surgeon who has never done any work on friends or family? I know that seeing work first hand is the best way, but if you don't have that, you don't think their morphs or before and after pics can be trusted? That is a very big blow to my confidence in ANY doctor. I don't want to start fearing whether they are on the up and up!

For example, Dr Steiger has amazing before and afters of Revision Rhinos on his site. Are you saying those might not be his patients? He does provide video testimonials as well-- those can't be faked... right?

Also, Dr. Davis has written plenty of journal articles and has won several awards-- he wouldn't win awards if he wasn't respected in his field right?

What are we supposed to go by if we don't have anything other than the docs websites and our guts?

All I am saying is I personally know surgeons who have purchased pics and/or used other docs pics to show "their great work".

Use the B&A pics as a guide, and just that. I know people who have scheduled appointments based on B&A pics and online chat/Skype sessions with docs, without ever meeting them. Scary.

The morphs are also good so that you and your surgeon are on the same page, however, the morph results often do not accurately reflect actual post op results.

Have your consultations in person. That is the only true way to choose a surgeon.

Of course, I agree-- one needs to meet with these surgeons in person, but as far as wanting to see what they have accomplished, would you not trust computer morph before and afters being shown to you? Should I ask to see physical photos that can't be tweaked? What if the doc only has computer images?

Some docs still rely on actual physical photos, while others use digital photography, which as you know can be enhanced and/or altered. It's tricky as there are many unethical surgeons out there. I know of several docs who use friends, employees, and family members to pretend to be actual former patients. Frightening, isn't it?

Visit as many docs as you can, and do not limit yourself geographically if possible.

That is extremely frightening Öhe does seem young and I would have to make a fairly long trip just to consult with him. I donít know if Iím willing to go out on a limb for a doctor that I havenít been able to get better information of. For that Iíd rather go with Steiger. He's also on the younger side but Iíve been able to get more feed back about him and his patientsÖI ended up having a consultation with himÖjust because I didnít see the harm in checking him out. It went pretty well and he showed me actual hard copy pictures heís collected in a binder. Heís the first doctor Iíve met with thatís done that. Thanks for the input guys! Iím still searching

hard copy photos sound encouraging! were they primaries only or some revisions? Steiger is super convenient for me too and I'm looking forward to my consult with him. Keep you all posted...

Newbie, did you ask to speak to any of his former patients?

Be careful with the "former patients" as well. They could be friends, family, colleagues, and/or employees.

is there some sort of test question you can ask to figure out whether they are "fake" patients? If you don't know any personally, besides meeting the doc, seeing pics and speaking to former patients what else can we do?

In NY it was much easier to find a surgeon through a friend, but down here everyone is more secretive and don't own up to surgery. Plus, anyone with a good nose job would be insulted if I asked where she got it done!!!
