Need Columbus/Cincinnati rhinoplasty doctor recommendation So far I have found Dr. Mandell-Brown in Cincinnati (not too thrilled about him) and Drs. Stephen P. Smith and Michael Sullivan in Columbus. Dr. Smith is the Director of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center and won numerous awards during his residency. Graduated in the top of his class. Published papers, teaches, speaks at events, etc. Dr. Sullivan also was the Director of the Division of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at OSU and is a bit older than Dr. Smith (more experienced). Same impressive C.V. Has anyone used any of these drs. or heard of their work? I plan on consulting with both of them. I have a large bulbous nose with a small hump on bridge. My tip will need to be reduced and reformed quite a bit so picking the right doctor is crucial to me. |
i am going to check into these. i have a problem with my chin implant and need to find a plastic surgeon in columbus or the area. have you heard of dr robert houser? |

RealSelf.com has they listed as top Facial Plastic Surgeons for Columbus as well. I've emailed Dr. Smith and he emailed me back, answering my questions which is a plus in my book as well. |
Take it easy with the Real Self advice. |
FPRS / Plastic Surgeons When I was considering plastic surgery (chin implant and neck lipo) a couple of years ago, I asked my primary care physician for recommendations. He said to start by going to consultations with Plastic Surgeons who are Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. ABPS Plastic Surgeons have more experience and are more qualified than FPRS's. For the best of the best, go with an ABPS Plastic Surgeon who also is a Member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. I did this and I couldn't be happier with the results of my surgery. |
Rhinoplasty in the Columbus, Ohio area I went to Dr. Houser about a year ago for a rhinoplasty and septoplasty.I am very pleased with my results. I too, was a little concerned about not seeing before and after photos on his website, but Dr. Houser did show me photos during the consultation and again during my pre-op appointment. Dr. Houser explained to me that he believes that having patient photos on his site can become an invasion of patient privacy and that these photos can also be misleading or can set people up with unrealistic expectations. I respect his position on this. |
Rhinoplasty Recommendation: Dr. Robert Hummel In Cincinnati, I would recommend Dr. Robert Hummel of the Plastic Surgery Group. Check him out... I think you'd be greatly served. |
how did it go? Quote:
Also did Dr. Smith or Sullivan work out? The more I read about everything that could go wrong in rhinoplasty, the more nervous I get! |

As for rhinoplasty nervousness, check out Surgery Squad's Virtual Rhinoplasty surgery. I also pulled this video from YouTube with Dr. Mandell-Brown: YouTube - Dr Mandell-Brown Hope this helps! |
I know someone who had a revision by Houser. 3 years later it sunk and looks exactly like before. |
