Is it okay to blow your nose after rhinoplasty? I have surgery this week and am worried because I have bad allergies and am constantly blowing my nose all the time. This surgery (septoplasty and tip refinement) is costing me a small fortune and I literally cannot have anything go wrong because I won't be able to afford a revision.

Avoid blowing your nose for approximately 10-15 days post-op. if you have to sneeze, do not hold back. Sneeze through your mouth.

You will be so stuffed up afterwards, you probably couldn't blow your nose even if you tried. I tried to breathe in and couldn't even do that. You will be a mouth breather for days. It started to loosen up for me about 5-6 days post op. I also had septum correction with rhino so there was also splints in there. Nobody ever tells you the congestion is worse than the pain. 9 days today and can finally breathe 100%, but still no blowing. . GL!

Some doctors will allow you to use a saline rinse following surgery, which helps tremendously with congestion!
