I am 8 days post op. Today I was brushing my bangs when the brush accidentally got away from me and hit my nose. It was a light tap, but I felt it nonetheless...I still have a strip of silicone on the bridge of my nose that may have softened the blow, but I'm still paranoid.

Also, does laughing affect the result? I laughed pretty hard last night and I felt pressure on my nose...my surgeon says it's ok but I would still to hear a second opinion...

Careful with hitting the nose in any form or fashion. If I were you I'd consult with the surgeon, and have a visit perhaps if you are concerrned. Monitor your nose closely and visit your surgeon asap if there are any odd happenings/changes.

Laughing shouldn't be a problem.

Please be careful!!! I want your results to turn out as they should. Be careful doing anything (I give myself the same advice)!!!

Thank you, robyne for always answering questions! You are the best poster here! I had a follow up with my surgeon today and I asked him tons of questions, including the ones I posted here. He said that it would take a significant blow to the nose to alter the effect of it. He said that tons of patients had called him days after rhinoplasty with similar concerns (one patient fell out of bed and hit her nose, and another patient ran smack dab into a door) but that their noses turned out great anyway.

I saw my nose today without the strip of silicone and tape, and I already love it!!!!! It's just what I wanted- the bump I had is gone, the tip is turned up cutely, and it's smaller in overall size. Most importantly, it looks natural. It's still swollen of course, and there's still a hint of a bump, but my suregon assured me it would absolutely, positively go away. I am very happy

It's so good to hear that you are happy with the results of your procedure!!!

Keep your eye on that little bump. Just because the surgeon said it will go away is no guarantee. Keep your surgeon posted regarding your progress and/or changes. If you have any issues contact your doc asap.

You should be fine, but if there was minor damage, it may not be visible for a while due to the swelling. But at 8 days post-op, the bridge of the nose is healed pretty well, so it doesn't sound like that will happen in your situation but I have heard of people having healing issues later on which they suspected were from bumping their nose earlier on.
