Um, is this normal??? I had my rhinoplasty done a week ago and got my splint taken off today. It's still pretty swollen; my surgeon added a strip of silicone with tape down the bridge of my nose. Here's what is making me nervous: he is making me apply pressure to the right side and the bridge of my nose down for five minutes a day until friday. As he explains it, it is as if my nose is clay that will be molded. I have done much research and have never heard of this being a common practice. Is something wrong here, or is this something normal that I just didnt know about? |
Some docs recommend you apply pressure/massage post rhinoplasty, however, you must do it EXACTLY as your surgeon demonstrates. If you have any questions or doubts about your method of massage/pressure application, ask your doc immediately!!! You will have swelling for quite some time. |
Massaging is common but not that. Be careful. More pressure than directed could really mess it up. |
Thank you everyone! |
So what's the verdict? Keep us posted!!! :) |
