NYC Surgeons Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for surgeons in the nyc area. Specifically, I was looking to see if anyone has heard ANYTHING, good or bad, about Dr. Anthony Labruna, who's the director of facial plastic surgery in department of otolaryngology at cornell medical center. I have an appointment for a consultation with him in a few weeks, and I can't seem to find anything at all about him online, and i don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I was also recommended Dr. Sam Rizk by a family friend, but i think I've seen both good and bad reviews on him. I've been on one consultation with a fancy surgeon in the city, he seemed good, but he's a little more expensive than Labruna, and while i'm not looking for a surgeon based on price, i am on somewhat of a budget. Does anyone have any experience with either of these doctors or any other suggestions? I'm looking to have a very subtle nose job and need a doctor that's good with the tip. Thanks!! |

Welcome to the forum!!! Avoid LaBruna. Rizk is a cookie cutter surgeon. Feel free to PM me for reccomendations. I am in the area. :) |
Thanks Robyne! I sent you a PM. |
Jessica, not sure if you picked a doc yet, but I was considering Dr. Rizk too. I have an "ethnic" nose and think his work is out of this world. He also has a blog outside of his website where he posts pictures continuously of before and afters. I can PM you the link if you like, if you don't have it, just message me. If I were in NY I definitely would've used him. I had a host of considerations and narrowed it down to two. Everyone has different expectations and at the top of my list were surgeons that had good results with ethnic noses. I didn't want the pig turned up ski slope bridge nose. Also, finding an ethnic doctor was important to me because I feel like they can appreciate the aesthetic I was looking for if that makes sense. Definitely make appointments to see each consideration and meet with them 2,3,4 times if needed. I had no problems with anyone when I felt like I was being obsessive about it and unsure. Good luck! |
Rhinoplasty Doctor in New York Area Hi, I've had a few consults with doctors in the NYC area for a slight dorsal hump removal. I've heard mixed reviews and was considering the following Dr's: Dr. Steven Pearlman (NYC), Dr. Anthony LaBruna(NYC), Dr. Daniel Baker(NYC), , Dr. Feinberg (Long Island), Dr. Zachary Gerut (Long Island). Are any of these doctors extremely good (I'm a perfectionist). My features resemble Kim Kardashian's with the exception of the profile view. I'd like a doctor that can remove the hump, without making it look like a ski slope. Although I feel minimal tip work is needed, once the hump is removed I think it may be necessary to do small work to shorten the tip, so that the nose does not look elongated. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not wed to any of the above doctors, I just want the best (regardless of location). I'm trying to combine the rhino with septoplasty surgery and sinus surgery, so if the doctor is willing/ able to do all surgeries combined my life would be much easier. If not, I'm willing to the sinus surgery and cosmetic portion seperately just so that I get the perfect nose! Thanks and apologies for the lengthy post! |
