| Aafprs How important is it for my rhinoplasty surgeon to be a member of the AAFPRS? I've been researching on the AAFPRS and none of the surgeons I've been considering (some of the best I've heard of on here..Vartany, Daniel, Grigoryants, Solieman & Litner) are members of the facial board. They are all american plastic surgery board certified, but I haven't seen any facial board certified. Robeyne said that this was crucial, so I was wondering what to do.. |

| I'm at the same point as you, peasonacob. I've seen the docs that are on the facial board (that are in my price range), but don't like their before and afters. Actually, Solieman and Litner show up on the Facial Board when I looked them up. (Solieman is listed as Peyman Soliemanzadeh). They were just a touch out of reach for me in price, but I was impressed with their gallery.
I'm breaking my own rule and consulting with Grigoryants..... |

under lesser consideration but still definitely on my list
Dr. Greg Mueller - LA -
Dr. Mark Epstein -NY- LI
Dr. Simoni - LA
Dr. Calvin Johnson - LA | Dr. Toriumi has had many horror stories, and Dr. Ryan is dead. The rest seem like good picks. I'm personally interested in Johnson because he's somewhat close to me and his website shows one heck of a neat office, but he doesn't seem to have any galleries. Dr. Calvert would probably be my top pick out of these surgeons if this was a revision. I've heard some meh stuff about Simoni concerning facelifts, and I think Frankel is supposed to be very expensive.
Seems like you have a pretty good list, and I would possibly add Solieman and Litner, Le, Boahene, Shah, and Rizk to the tab as well. All five of those surgeons are surgeons I would check out, at least with an online consult. |

May I ask if you have ever seen any of his chin implant implant before and afters, especially on a woman? (Granted he is just going to be taking out an implant i already have, not putting one in).
Thanks! | I have only seen this forum now and if you log on at all sometime (since you had your surgery last year), I am interested to know how your chin surgery went with Dr Palmer. In about 2000/2001, he took out an implant I had and replaced it. I wasn't happy with the implant I had at the time, simply because my chin didn't look straight. I told him this. He replaced it with another implant that made my chin look so big and square that I am teased (even although in a light-hearted way, by friends calling me Desperate Dan - that cartoon character with a massive square jaw. So, I am sure you get the picture, far from a feminine looking chin). So, yes I was and still am extremely disappointed and regret having asked him to do anything. It looked much better before. Unfortunately, I simply have not had the money to have anything done to sort my chin out. I spent a lot of money at the time of surgery, as I flew over from the UK. So, on top of surgery costs, I had flights and accommodation expenses, too. I also had revision rhinoplasty and liposuction. I was very happy with the liposuction results. |

| I just had primary rhinoplasty done by Dr. Pastorek (NYC). I read some good things about him, most importantly that he did subtle work. I hated some of the photos I would see from other surgeons where it just looked like they did the same nose on everyone. Dr. Pastorek was amazing! I am 13 days post op. I went back to work yesterday and still have some slight bruising under my one eye and am a little nasaly, but otherwise feel fantastic. I think the difference in my nose is very subtle but he did a lot of work to it - removed a hump, thinned it out, took down the projection and straightened it (it was pretty crooked). So, bottom line, it looks like a streamlined, straighter version of my old nose. I'm really happy with it. Dr. Pastorek was very kind, gentle and instilled a lot of confidence that he really knows what he's doing. I highly recommend him. I went to 2 other surgeons before him for consults - one said he wouldn't do anything to my nose, thought it looked fine. The other gave me a hard sell and said he'd take $1k off if I signed up for the surgery then & there - also his receptionist told me "you should really do it because you're so pretty except for that one thing" (meaning my nose). It was a real turn-off. In contrast, during my consult with Dr. Pastorek, he said that I could go my whole life and change nothing and still look great, but if I decided to do it, here's what he would change....then he showed me how he would make some improvements to my nose. Overall, a great experience - I don't even remember the surgery. Well worth it - I'm so glad I did it. |

| AlmostLisa,
How did your consultation with Dr. Grigoryants go? Mine is scheduled for late August...that's the earliest date slot he has open. Did you undergo rhinoplasty yet? |

| Yay I'm glad to see some jotted lists...now I have somewhere to start. Not my thread but helps me immensely. Now onto research.
Dr. Grigoryants' before and afters give me hope for my nose...let's see if he lives up to those pictures. |
