Nasal Exercises After Rhinoplasty My surgeon was telling me to do nasal exercises after rhinoplasty. I went to find out more and what I saw said that it needs to be done exactly how your surgeon tells you or it can mess up your nose. It said you need to press in the exact location with the same pressure the surgeon tells you to. The problem is mine didn't give me that detailed of instructioned. He showed me about how to do nasal exercises after rhinoplasty and that's it. Should I ask him again? He said that I need to do it 10 or 15x a day too. Should I set my alarm at night to wake up every hour and a half to do the nasal exercises? |
Definitely ask him again. Post rhino exercises are used to decrease swelling and/or to mold the nasal bones. |
My physician has made no mention of nasal exercises after rhinoplasty. Perhaps such is used for some but not others? |
Depends on the specific procedure. You should consult with your surgeon. |
From my experience, nasal exercises are only done when septum work is done. When it's a revision and only the tip is being worked on, I don't think there are any exercises involved. I wasn't told to do them ten or fifteen times daily though. I would love to find out if that's the average recommendation or not. As Robyne said, you should really talk to your plastic surgeon about this to find out. A rhinoplasty forum is not the same thing ;) |
