| need opinion on this SF surgeon Hello everyone,
I'm from southern california but im not crazy impressed with any surgeons down here. With a little research I came up on David W Kim from SF. His credentials look impressive (looks like he trained with Toriumi) and I'm intrigued by his before and afters but I'd like second opinions! BTW im looking to get a conservative primary rhino and im ethnic: Before and after photos--rhinoplasty, nose jobs by David W. Kim, MD, San Francisco
thank you! |

| hi, I'm iranian. my nose is not horrible, it's long a bit droopy and i have a bit of a hump with a bulbous tip. I'd be going for a primary and it should be fairly simple. |

| I like Dr Kims subtle work, my fear is that over time my nose would start to pinch or look fake and I really need it to look natural so maybe starting out wit ha subtle result would help achieve this? |

| If you posted photos, forum members would definitely be able to assist you.
I know of many surgeons in the area. If you are interested PM me, as I never promote anyone I know publicly.
It sounds like you have what is called aesthetically what is known as a traditional nose for your ethnicity.
I do not know if I would call his work subtle. Many of the ethnic looking individuals on his site appear to have gotten the "cookie cutter" approach. Some individuals in the gallery do not have desirable results in my opinion, and if this is his best work, I do not want to see the results he doesn't like. Some of the examples presented on his site show great improvement, but I see several rhinoplasties that were done in a fashion where the desired approach was a more popular nose, rather than the right nose.

| By the way if your nose is (as you describe it) "it's long a bit droopy and i have a bit of a hump with a bulbous tip" it is going to be difficult to have a "subtle" rhinoplasty, unless you are willing to lose your ethnic appearance.

I originally thought I wanted to go with Vladimir Grigoryants in LA but he does seem to like the cookie cutter approach |

| Especially if you're willing to travel, PM me.
I would address the hump and a bit of the length. I think that you have a wonderful classic and yes, ethnic look, which is refreshing to see.
What you said about not having a Caucasian nose is exactly what I would professionally recommend you get away from. You need to be true to yourself and your visage, and simply improve ... not look like a different person.
