Default Plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Davis in FL anyone?

Going for revision soon and have been starting to interview doctors. Dr. Richard Davis came up on another forum which I was able to gather some feedback from, but I am scheduled for a consult with him in early Feb. and looking for as much background and feedback as I can get.

I did a search here for Davis and no results were found. Anyone here have experience either first or second hand with him?

Many thanks in advance.

BTW, I am in FL and need a doc from there.

I do NOT know about Davis, but I do know of several excellent plastic surgeons in FL.

PM me.

I have never heard about a Dr Richard Davis in Florida either. I just checked and it looks like he is an otolaryngologist in Miramar, FL. Is that the plastic surgeon you are talking about? I can find plenty of mentions of his name but no official site for him

Hey la_angel, yep, that's him. He does not have a website which puzzles me as well. Apparently he gets his business off word of mouth. Evidently according to other forums I have been on he is in demand for revision work. I have gotten mixed reviews thus far.

Gonna bump this as my consult with him is tomorrow. Seems strange that his name can be all over one board and not anywhere on another.

Anyone at all?

I Googled his name and all I saw was another post complaining about Dr Richard Davis not being in America's Top Doctors. That is something doctors pay to be a part of it's not a legit ranking.

My nose was badly botched in a primary and made worse in a revision. Don't pick this Davis guy until you know for sure. If he doesn't have a website in 2010 he doesn't sound like he's up with the times. Does he treat rhinoplasty advancements the same way?

gonna bump this. I have met with him and have formulated my opinion of his professionalism, but I am still seeking former patient reviews. Thanks

BTW he now has his site up and running here is the link

It's nice that this guy actually lists how long post-op the after pics were taken. A lot of surgeons don't bother bec most noses look okay at 6 months but can start to warp and collapse a year or two later.

The pics in his revision rhinoplasty gallery are pretty extreme cases. Your nose is that bad? If he can improve those by that much, then an average revision would probably look a lot better. The thing I didn't like though was that the scars were visible on a couple, like #1. I think this guy has potential but I will need to read more about him. I would want to know what some of those after pics at 5 months look like at 18 months too. Have you asked him how many rhinoplasty surgeries he has done total?

Thanks for gettin' back Mr. Z (BTW that is the type of car I drive, so kudos on the screen name). No my nose is not that extreme, just needs to be thinned on the middle third and at the alar tip. Also a Columella strut is in order. It was not done properly to begin with.

When we were going through photos I saw about 1,300 patients listed and he said that was for the last 5 years, but not every one of them had it done just a large portion. According to him, he has been doing Rhinos for close to two decades now. So according to my math that is well into the thousands, which seems like a solid foundation to me. I think he said he does 2/3 revisions and 1/3 primary. He is also not too young to lack experience, and not too old to perform at a peak level, which I think is a factor.

He also told me that the pics on the sight were not just of his best work, but a representation of different types of noses resulting in a typical end result.

I think this guy definitely knows his stuff, but I am always open for suggestions if anyone has any for great rhino surgeons in FL.

Also, still waiting to hear some feedback on Dr. Davis as well.

Thanks again!

If this surgeon is so popular, I wonder why we haven't heard of him

I would really scrutinize Dr. Richard Davis' credentials. For someone that is allegedly this experienced, I would expect we would see his name in academic studies, etc. It's very unusual that the three of us haven't heard of him before.
